TEN ON WAR FOOTING OVER CLIPSAL TELECAST As television networks launch around-the-clock coverage of the war in Iraq, V8 Supercar broadcaster Channel Ten can't guarantee this weekend's Clipsal 500 will make it to air.Ten's current battle plan is to go ahead with its live two-day coverage of the opening event of the series, but developments in the Middle East may force late changes. "Hopefully not," was Ten news/sport spokesman Sam Heard's response when asked by V8 Wire about possible disruptions to the V8 Supercar coverage, "but we can't say either way at the moment as we don't know what's going to happen." Ten's coverage, hosted by Bill Woods and Neil Crompton, is scheduled to start at 1pm on Saturday and Sunday. --V8 WIRE (Jason Whittaker) |
